The Adwa Victory Day was celebrated in the capital Addis Ababa colorfully at the newly built Adwa Victory Memorial under the theme “Adwa is a Pride for All Black People.”

The ENDF conducted military parade and an Air Show as part of the celebration as youths performed plays depicting the participation of Ethiopians at the battle of Adwa and the victory at large.

The anniversary is also being celebrated in all regional states, city administrations, institutions, embassies and consulates all over the world.

They acknowledged the deep historical relations and economic connections between their nations, committing to strengthen their cooperation further, according to the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Ethiopia, Kenya discusses cooperation in combating terrorism, ensuring regional peace and stability

Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian Defense Forces (ENDF), paid a visit to the HQ of the Kenyan Defense Force.

As part of his working visit, the Chief of the General Staff held discussion with his Kenyan counterpart, General Francis Omondi Ogolla, to further strengthening the ties between Ethiopia and Kenya.

The meeting between the military leaders was marked by camaraderie and fruitful discussions as they delved deep into areas of common interest and various bilateral issues.

Discussion with Regional Representatives

Today’s discussion on a broad spectrum of national issues involved representatives from the Somali, Afar, Harari, Gambella, Benishangul-Gumuz regions, and Dire Dawa city. Our dialogue spanned topics related to development, peace, and security. (@AbiyAhmedAli)

President Sahle-Work: Attended Funeral of Late Namibian President

President Sahle-Work attended the funeral of the late Namibian President Hage Geingob. In her speech, she said, “the relationship between Ethiopia and Namibia started in the 60s, when Ethiopia and Liberia took the case   of   independence   to   the   International   Court of Justice(ICJ), challenging South African apartheid regime”.

She added, “he fought the right fight for the freedom of his country, the rights and well-being of his people. This is what makes a person with vision and leadership skill a hero. Let’s honor the heroes while they are alive”.

The new Namibian Embassy was inaugurated by President Sahle-Work and President Geingob last year.

Bilateral Meetings: In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taye Atske-Selassie, met today with the ambassadors of Jordan and Kuwait to Ethiopia.

During the discussion, the Foreign Minister stated that Ethiopia wishes to strengthen its multifaceted relations with the countries.

The Minister specifically stated that the Labor Employment Agreement between Ethiopia and Jordan had been approved by the Council of Ministers.

Ambassador Taye suggested that such agreements could serve as a bridge to strengthen Ethiopia’s relationship with Jordan.

The Kuwaiti ambassador, for his part, stated that a similar agreement is expected to be signed shortly.

Foreign Minister Taye-Atske-Selssie confers with Dr. Julius W. Garvey

Dr. Julius W. Garvey on his part highlighted the deep connection of black people all over the world with Ethiopia.

It is to be recalled that this past weekend in Addis Ababa, Dr. Julius W. Garvey was named guardian of the Global Black History, Heritage and Education Center.

H.E. Taye holds discussion with Ambassador of Djibouti to Ethiopia

H.E Ambassador Taye Atseke-Selassie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, discussed with Ambassador Abdi Mahmoud Ibe, Ambassador of Djibouti, on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interests.

The two have explored ways of strengthening multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Defense Ministries of Ethiopia, Uganda ink MoU

The Ministry of Defense of the Federal Democratic of Ethiopia and its Ugandan counterpart, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA), signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their cooperation.

On the occasion, Abraham Belay stated that the agreement will further strengthen the relations between the two countries. He underscored that they have signed to work together on information exchange, military capacity building, regional and related issues.

Ethiopia Participates in the Biennial WTO Ministerial Conference (MC)

Ethiopia was participated in the biennial 13th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC13), which commenced in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

In sideline with the conference, The Ethiopian delegation, led by Gebremeskel Chala, Minister of Trade and Regional Integration held discussions with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi (PhD), Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Chair of the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC13).

Diplomacy Week Exhibition attracts over 250,000 visits:

State Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Birtukan Ayano gave a press briefing today announcing the successful conclusion of the Diplomacy Week Exhibition in the Science Museum.

More than two hundred thousand people attended the exhibition, including ambassadors, diplomats, officials, and employees of international organizations, according to Ambassador Birtukan.

According to the ambassador, the exhibition emphasized Ethiopia’s extensive history of diplomatic relationships and international relations, both past and present.

She said that the two books produced in conjunction with the exhibition made it possible to highlight Ethiopia’s bilateral and multilateral relations, especially the contribution it has played in the continent of Africa, the Horn of Africa, and international fora.

Overall, from a variety of perspectives, Ambassador Birtukan said, the 48-day diplomacy exhibit at the Science Museum proved to be a success.
